Swords in games

Posted: January 13, 2011 in General Maiming

Is it just me, or do swords as weapons in games really test the limits of programming for computers? Do they work on a button tap repeatedly with different animations, keystroke combos, or mouse action? I’d find it very difficult as a game designer to make that decision. No wonder gun based games are so prolific. I am okay with oblivion and how it works, but I bought this game zeno clash, which has a different thing for swords. You should play it, and tell me what you think. Its so different, I’m just not sure what I think yet. Mel B Digital

When you can't play together

My man had a computer breakdown, and I really miss playing games with him. It is strange, but borderlands and need for speed aren’t any fun without him. Alas, it must be kinda like when a fitness couple has one of them break a leg, suddenly the fun component has to be rethought. Although a bad vid card is faster to heal than a broken leg. Plus, he was at first blaming it on the ram I sold him, my old 2gig corsair dominator, which he called twitchy. Hah! It was his sucky vid card! Okay, so I still have a mean streak. I can’t help it, he insulted me when he insulted my old ram.
Aw, now I feel bad. I should find him a good video card deal. It would be easier if he wasn’t a gigabyte motherboard and small power supply guy. He needs a 500 watt power supply, yeah, that’s my view. Then he can have a nice vid card, power up that ram nicely, and all will be good.
Am I a decent girlfriend or do I make a better gamer? I guess only time will tell. Mel B Digital

Fallout 3

Okay, so I’m impressed. I still like oblivion better, and if I didn’t have that background I’d be having trouble with the menus and controls, but on the whole I’m impressed.
Except for repairing items. I don’t have the hang of that yet. But yeah, that’s part what I’m doing. Must post some pictures in here when I get back home. I’m out having coffee right now.
What is the big deal with Nvidia crashing out? Arg! If I hadn’t updated recently I would be in trouble still. Why can’t there be warnings out out? I mean, if I register my hardware, will they send an email warning me that certain games will crash unless I update? Because as someone in an area with unstable internet, I don’t automatically update anything. Mel B Digital
